FAQ

We have compiled some of the most commonly asked questions you have submitted.  Please refer to these to find answers to your inquiries. If you still have questions, don't hesitate to contact us!

"What kind of capital do I need to start daytrading?"

You can start daytrading with any amount you choose.  To take part in the  newsletter plays we suggest a minimum capital of $10,000.  If you don't have that, you can start small and work up, but you'll need to take into consideration the brokerage fees ($19.99 per trade, etc.) and other charges that will take away from your profits. Before trading you also need to take into careful consideration your ability to bear the financial risks involved with trading. Please use risk capital only!

"I want to start daytrading, but I don't know the first thing about it."

If you not sure about daytrading, please don't just "jump in" take the time to read  up and learn the basics of trading.  Daytrading is NOT easy and not a "get rich quick" strategy. A great way to start into daytrading is to paper trade or use a trading simulator (without involving actual funds). These strategies don't take into account all the possible risks that occur when trading with real funds, but it can give you a sense of what it's like to trade. There are also many books, videos and training courses out there designed specifically with the daytrader in mind. Please make sure you have a strong foundation of knowledge before using actual funds. You can check out our Online Resources for a listing of various companies to help you.

"What time of the morning can I get the newsletters?"

All members should receive the newsletter(s)  before the markets open.  Both newsletters are posted on the site as well and can be  accessed between 7:15-7:30am CST.  If you do not have the information to access  the site, please contact Member Services.

"How do I read the model portfolio?"

Here is an overview of what each heading means.

  • TICKER: this is the stock symbol and tell whether it's a long or a short (+/-)
  • DATE: this is the date that we recommended the stock.
  • PRICE: this is the price that the position was entered. This price will change if the stock is averaged.
  • LAST: this is the stocks closing price of the previous day.
  • CHANGE: the difference between the price and the last.
  • AVERAGE: this is the price we suggest taking another position should the stock start to move against you. We may average a max. of 2 times before stopping out. If you are not comfortable with averaging, you may choose to stop out instead.
  • STOP: this is the price that you would exit the position and cut your losses.
  • TARGET: this is the price that we want to stock to hit before we take the     profits.
  • RATING: "hold" means that we are holding it and "sold" means that it hit the target price or closed out the position for other reasons.

Be sure to check the Market Overview every morning for any changes that took place the previous day.

"What does the +/- mean in front of the ticker symbol?"

The + indicates a "buy" which is simply where you purchase a stock and assume that the price will rise. The - indicates a "short sell".  This involves more risk than  a buy,  therefore, those not familiar with short-selling need to do their homework BEFORE attempting this style of trading. It is considered higher risk and involves many rules. Please consult your broker before attempting.

"What if the stock doesn't hit the entry price?"

This sometimes happens.  Our Model Portfolio will show that no position was taken.

"I'm not getting the newsletters."

If you have received the newsletters in the past then it may simply be a delivery error. You may call the office and report the problem or you can access the newsletters online using the username and password that you created. If you have not received the newsletter for few days after signing up, please contact us at support@daytradingintl.com and we will look into the problem immediately. All newsletters are sent out and available on the site at approximately 7 - 7:30 am CST every morning.

"What is the billing cycle?"

Your first month of service is always pro-rated from the day you start.  After that your membership will  automatically renew on the first of each month.
